Every year, thousands of people in countries across Africa face barriers to securing employment and sustaining their families. That’s why, at Tools for Self Reliance we’ve made it our missions to help people into work, to build skills that are marketable in their communities and build a better future.
Through trade training and tool provision, we empower people to overcome these challenges. Working together, over the last 45 years, we have supported over 35,000 people to achieve qualifications and unlock doors to employment — giving them the means to move out of poverty and build a resilient livelihood.
But your support doesn’t have to stop here. By leaving a gift in your Will, you can ensure that future generations continue to benefit from our work. Your legacy will help young people, women, and vulnerable communities gain the skills and tools they need to thrive.
What better legacy to leave, than gifting someone their future?
Your generosity can extend beyond your own lifetime and touch the lives of generations to come. All you need to leave a gift in your Will to Tools for Self Reliance is our name and charity number – 280437.
You can leave different types of gifts, but even 1% of your estate could change the lives of people living in poverty by equipping them with sustainable skills – while ensuring your family and loved ones are taken care of.
To talk to someone in confidence about leaving a gift, contact our fundraising team on 02380 869697 or email the team today.
Gifts in wills play such an important part in enabling us to continue our work, and we invest the money that we are left wisely. For example, a legacy left by a long term supporter funded a project in Zambia, which trained 40 young people as tailors – reflecting the supporter’s own interest in refurbishing sewing machines.
Thanks to his kindness, *Nelly can earn an income to support her family. Nelly wasn’t able to finish her education, and with no skills, relied on selling food items. Now part of a tailoring group, Nelly can support her two children, and ensure that they can attend school, giving them more opportunities for the future.
*We’ve changed Nelly’s name.
