Trusts and foundations

The trustees were engaged by the charity’s ability to the benefit individuals both in the UK and abroad. In doing so the impact of the donation was doubled!

David Breach, The Albion Trust

For 30 years Tools for Self Reliance has built up valuable long-standing relationships with many family trusts and corporate foundations, and it is their generous support that has funded so much of our work.

This work has a transformative effect on the lives of thousands of people in Africa, from the 2,500 men and women whose livelihoods we supported with tools and training in 2010, to the thousands more who benefitted indirectly, including their families and local communities.

We provide a wide range of volunteering opportunities to over 700 people in the UK – people of all backgrounds and abilities, including those from marginalised and socially excluded groups – people who share our commitment to a fairer world.

We are always looking for more trusts and foundations to support our work. Here are some of the ways you can help:

  • £3,300 can provide vocational training for 154 people in Sierra Leone.
  • £5,000 can provide tool kits (including shipping) for 140 people in Tanzania.
  • £10,900 will fund a year’s complete project including vocational, business and life skills training and tools for 200 people in Uganda.

Our Annual Report and Annual Review give much more information. We are happy to send printed copies on request.

To discuss how you might get involved please contact Nicky Heather our project development officer on 023 8086 9697 or email her at nicky@tfsr.org.
