Churches

I am honoured to be a link with dedicated people in Britain joining hands with Africans – helping them to help themselves.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu, patron

Tools for Self Reliance enjoys the support of many churches across the UK and we are very grateful for all the help that we get.

By encouraging your church to support our work you will be helping to provide vulnerable people in some of the most deprived communities in Africa with life-changing training opportunities and tools.

The help Tools for Self Reliance offers is unique and practical. It changes people’s lives. It means that parents can earn the money to feed their children and send them to school.

We believe that community self empowerment and economic development is the only sure way to create long lasting change.

We are always looking for more churches to support our work. Here are some of the ways your church can help:

  • £4 can provide life skills training for one person in Sierra Leone.
  • £24 will provide them with a complete kit of tools.
  • £40 can provide them with literacy and numeracy training.
  • £240 will provide vocational, business and life skills training and tools for one person in Uganda.

Our Annual Report and Annual Review give much more information. We are happy to send printed copies on request. We’re also happy to provide a speaker where we can.

To discuss how you might get involved please contact Nicky Heather our project development officer on 023 8086 9697 or email her at nicky@tfsr.org.
