We have an exciting schedule of events planned for 2013, and will continue to add more throughout the year – so check back here regularly to make sure you don’t miss out!

EVENTS AT NETLEY MARSH

Coffee Mornings and Afternoon Teas

Come along to one of our Coffee Mornings or Afternoon Teas and grab a free cuppa! As well as tea/coffee, cakes and biscuits, there will be tours of our workshops, a short talk about the work we do and a raffle.

  • Afternoon tea – Thursday 9th May, 2-4 pm
  • Coffee morning – Friday 14th June, 10-12 am
  • Open Day – Saturday 29th June, 11 am – 4 pm

    Our Open Day is always a wonderful event, so come down to Netley Marsh and get involved this year.

    There will be plenty of activities going on for the whole family, including live music, craft stalls and displays, archery, a raffle with some fantastic prizes, a tombola, sessions by Storyteller Michael O’Leary, special activities for children, and lots lots more.

    Refreshments will be available. Entry is free, and there is plenty of free car parking.

    Craft to Craft Workshops

    All workshops are £10, and materials are supplied – just bring yourself! To book onto one of the classes, please contact Loraine Whittle on 02380 869697, or email her at admin@tfsr.org

  • Japanese Temari Balls Workshop – 2nd May, 2-4 pm
  • Japanese Garden Design Patchwork Squares – 20th June, 2-4 pm
  • ‘A circle becomes a square’ – all hand stitched—one can be prepared in this session and could form the start of a larger project.

  • Button Jewellery – 11th July, 2-4 pm
  • Recycle vintage and modern buttons to make jewellery for yourself or to give as a gift.

  • Knitted Log Cabin Square – 18th July, 2-4 pm
  • Knit an unusual and colourful log cabin square—the basis for a larger blanket.

  • Pressed Flowers – 5th September, 2-4 pm
  • Demonstration of how to press flowers, and then using already pressed flowers make a picture to mount in a frame.

  • Learn To Crochet A Granny Square – 17th October, 2-4 pm
  • Using one or more colours, learn how to make a square, the basis of so many crafted items — baby blankets, throws, bags, shawls, jackets etc.

  • Christmas Crafts – 14th November, 2-4 pm
  • EXTERNAL EVENTS

    Our four Long Term Volunteers will be completing an 8 mile walk to raise money for Tools for Self Reliance. They would be extremely grateful for your support – you can sponsor them here.
