We are always looking for volunteers across the UK – they are the backbone of our organisation, helping our small staff team to go further in supporting our trainees and partners. With over 400 volunteers, you will be guaranteed to join a friendly team and have plenty of opportunities to learn new skills. If you would be interested in becoming a volunteer, either supporting our tools programme or using your skills for good, please email our Volunteer Coordinator Ben Riley, ben@tfsr.org for further information.
Treasurer Trustee
Tools for Self Reliance is seeking a Treasurer Trustee to be an active and engaged member of their Board and to oversee the finances of the organisation, working closely with the Finance Team to ensure accurate financial records, and to prepare and present financial reports to the Board.
The post holder will have an accountancy qualification or an equivalent level of experience with expertise in financial management and charity finance and we are particularly keen to receive interest from applicants with experience in international charity governance and financial management, preferably through a previous executive or Trustee role.
The role will support the Finance Officer and CEO in maintaining accurate financial records in Xero for both statutory reporting and the provision of financial management information and reports to the Board of Trustees. They will also oversee financial risk management and policies.
The estimated total time commitment for the role is approximately 1-2 days per month, including quarterly board meetings, and a monthly finance meeting with the CEO and Finance Officer.
If you are interested in this role, please contact our CEO, Sarah Ingleby – sarah@tfsr.org or click here for the Trustee Recruitment Pack and Trustee Application Form.
Volunteer Bid Writer
We are lucky to have the support of established Trust and Foundations who provide the majority of our funding each year. Without them, our projects simply wouldn’t happen. To help us secure our future funding, you can help to write compelling cases for support, scope out new funders, and support our small team of fundraisers to compile necessary documents for applications. If you think you can help, have a look at our role specification to find out more about what is involved.
E-Commerce Volunteer
Help us reduce waste and support our training programme, by selling our preloved tools and sending them to good homes. We receive large quantities of donated tools which are unsuitable or surplus to requirements for our vocational training projects, but are lucky to have the support of donors to sell these and use them to raise funds instead. We already have a platform on eBay but are looking to expand our team of volunteers and explore new platforms. If you have the eye for a deal we’d love to hear from you. Check out the role today.
