Graduations and celebrations

Nearly 300 trainees are about to embark on their next chapters!

As we head into the summer, 270 project graduates, armed with new trades skills, business acumen and nationally recognised qualifications are stepping into their new futures. From across Ghana, Malawi and Sierra Leone, trainees have been supported by our expert project partners to upskill themselves and build a more sustainable livelihood.

Congratulations Craftshare

Congratulations to our 90 trainees who have just graduated with our partner, Craftshare Vocational Training Centre in Bo City, Sierra Leone.  Following a year of technical training and business development, the graduates are now equipped with the skills to build businesses in hairdressing, catering, masonry, welding and electrical installation.  The class of 2023 is eager to start earning an income from their chosen trades and we can’t wait to follow our graduates’ progress in the future!

Success for Street Girls Aid

Elsewhere, in Ghana, 20 young women have received their National Vocational Training Institute Level 1 certificates having graduated from a year-long tailoring project with our partner, Street Girls Aid.

The women have now entered our ‘transition to work’ project, where they are receiving support in preparing for interviews, presenting business plans and accessing safe loans to help set up their own businesses.

We look forward to following their success stories!

Felicitations to FESODEV

In the outer reaches of Lilongwe, Malawi, 160 men and women have completed the first 6 months of top-up training with our partner Foundation For Education And Social Development (FESODEV). The trainees, who are already working in carpentry, tailoring, welding, and solar repair and installation, have received 3 blocks of bespoke technical and business training to help them increase their service provision and expand their customer base. They also graduate with quality toolkits to support them in their increasing business demand.
