Fundraise

We receive hundreds of requests for tools and funds to train and equip the African artisans who take part in our programmes; we support the fight against poverty in Africa by increasing community awareness about the causes and consequences of poverty; we connect our members via our newsletters and website, and events.

All this takes money! Thanks to the efforts of all our supporters we are continuing to meet the challenge. But WE NEED YOU to ensure we keep doing so.

Do a sponsored event

Raising money by getting sponsored for Tools for Self Reliance is a valuable contribution to our cause. Not only can you make a real difference to the lives of thousands of people living in poverty, but it can be challenging and fun too! There are lots of things you can do. Run a 10K, ask friends to give money instead of presents for your birthday, wedding or significant anniversary. Check out our Volunteer Fundraising Handbook for lots more ideas.

It’s never been easier to set up your own online fundraising page whether you’re taking part in an event or organising one of your own. And with Gift Aid we can make your efforts go even further – every little helps! Once you’ve set up your page, make it personal by adding your own message and a photo. Check that your page details are correct – then away you go!

If you want to raise money offline that’s great too. You can download our sponsorship form here.

Craft 2 Craft

There are lots of other ways to raise money. For example, you could join our Craft 2 Craft handicrafts group at Netley Marsh and make and sell craft items here in the UK. This is a direct way of helping women in Africa, and publicising our work at the same time. You could even set up your own crafts group where you are.
