Volunteering
The fact that I am able to work with friends doing something I enjoy is only part of it. Knowing that what I do helps people in developing countries means a lot to me.

Tools for Self Reliance volunteers come in all shapes and sizes: whether working from home, in one of our refurbishing groups throughout the UK, or at our Netley Marsh headquarters, we welcome young and old, male and female, from all backgrounds and walks of life. As a learning organisation, we welcome opportunities to work alongside people from different countries, backgrounds and views. At some locations we are pleased to be able to welcome adults with learning difficulties and other disabilities, and at Netley Marsh we also enjoy the annual summer workcamps, where ten or twelve young people from all over the world come for two weeks to help out, and to share their experiences of life with the local workforce.

People get involved in different ways:
- Acting as a collector for tools and sewing machines.
- Collecting and refurbishing tools, and perhaps sewing machines.
- Promoting TFSR generally and raising awareness of development issues.
- Fundraising for Tools for Self Reliance.
Please note that we do not have any volunteering opportunities overseas
