Trustees
Tools for Self Reliance is both a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. As a company we have a Board of Directors but as a charity these people are known as Trustees. In accordance with NCVO recommendations Tool for Self Reliance now usually refers to its Board members as Trustees.
Tools for Self Reliance trustees are elected from within the Tools for Self Reliance membership. Each year a third of the board steps down and elections take place at the Annual General Meeting.
To be eligible potential trustees need to be nominated by two existing members and to be fully aware of the trustee’s responsibilities. To get a clearer idea of their duties they should read the trustee job description and person specification. They must also sign the Declaration of commitment and qualification for trusteeship to show their eligibility.
