Gopal threading the pipes on site
Although we focus on helping our partners in six countries in western, eastern and southern Africa, where resources allow we can sometimes respond to requests for help elsewhere. For example the Raipali village water project in Nepal supplies drinking water to the village using a pump and gravity distribution system. Tools for Self Reliance provided some of the tools used to install the pipework.
“The tools you provided were immensely useful and in some instances essential to our work. For instance we had to remove a threaded socket from the top of the pump. It took two people with stilson wrenches that you supplied, each with an extension bar, to remove this. The thread cutter also provided our only means of threading pipes on site.” Aidan Marchand, Okhle Village Trust
