Connecting people in Accra
Providing a voice is a new project to connect under-represented people in rural and urban communities across Ghana through the internet.
Via an online community users can share their stories and discuss issues affecting them. The community works as an independent channel of public information. Using web-ready computer stations, people can publish video testimonials and web blogs directly to the website. Outreach workers equipped with video cameras go out into the field to chronicle the voices of Ghana’s youth. Video testimonials are then uploaded and streamed onto the website.
Pro-Link, one of Tools for Self Reliance’s partners in Ghana, is taking part in the project. The project website includes interviews with Pro-Link students and staff.
