The Nutfield day centre in Southampton supports adults with learning disabilities to develop horticultural skills. `Branching Out For Nutfield Nurseries` (BOFNN) is a group of carers, supporters and service users which has secured funding for a new Conservation Group at the centre. Funded by BOFNN, an ecologist has already undertaken a flora and fauna survey of the meadow on the Netley Marsh site and told the group to watch for feeding goldfinches later in the year. The Conservation group will work one day a week to manage the meadow for conservation; this means starting by cutting back the choking brambles and allowing other plants to grow.
