Tools for Self Reliance Visit Ghanaian Partners
In February, Tools for Self Reliance’s Ash Abili, Programme Development Officer, and Sarah Ingleby, Partnership Development Officer, set out on a working visit to Ghana. They were joined by cameraman Dominic Jones from Fractured Films who is currently working on a promotional video to raise awareness of Tools for Self Reliance’s valuable work.
During their stay, the team were able to visit several of our newer partners in Ghana and formalise some long-standing working relationships into more structured partnerships. Ash said it was good to meet the people he regularly contacted by e-mail or phone – for him it really personalised the projects. Sarah commented that it was a very positive trip and that it was great to see the projects in action. She added:
There’s been some successful implementation and there are some very promising outcomes for further work in the coming year.
As a result of the visit, initial plans are already underway for one of the members of the PROLINK and GIGDEV organisations to visit the Netley Marsh workshops later this year to receive sewing machine training.
