Netley Marsh hosts European Workcamp

During the last two weeks of August, the Netley Marsh workshops once again hosted a group of young people from all over Europe who wanted to volunteer their time in order to help artisans in Africa.

All of the visitors enjoyed the workcamp, despite all the hard work involved, and they also relished the opportunity to improve their English language skills and learn about international development. When asked about the experience, Samuel said:

Rewarding – sense that our work was valued, necessary and helpful for TFSR and the communities in Africa.

In their free time, the visitors were able to visit Southampton, Salisbury and Stonehenge, which they described as a fantastic experience. They were also involved in the TFSR Open Day, after which a barbeque and barn dance was held for all volunteers. Sandra told us:

The barn dance was very funny and it was nice to get to know a piece of the English culture.
